Cobalt Remembers is an opportunity for students to talk with veterans, hear their story, and discover history through their sacrifice. This allows student to embrace history as well as allowing our veterans to share their story. This promotes understanding, learning, and healing.
Students correspond, meet, and interview veterans and write biography of their veteran. Students work with the veteran to ensure they correctly capture the facts. They present this biography to their veteran with pictures commemorating this event. Veterans are honored, are allowed to tell their story to the students.
Students are graded on their collaboration, meeting deadlines, and their final product.
"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States."
